What a Difference an Angle Makes

Welcome back to a new year at NOLAA.  We have some great plans for the 2013-2014 season and look forward to seeing old friends and, of course, making new ones.

Please join us for our first meeting.  We will have an exciting new segment called “Tool Time”.  Roxanne Beard will start off by demonstrating the use of the Chisel Edge with felt markers and steel nibs.

She will show how changing the angle of the pen will produce three completely different hands (lettering styles) with different characteristics.  Although a myriad of styles can be created with this versatile tool, Roxanne will demonstrate Italic at 45 degrees, Foundational at 30 degrees and Uncial at 15 degrees.

Materials List

3.5 mm or 5.0 mm felt tip Chisel Edge marker (any color)

There will be some pen sets available at cost.  The set includes three sizes:  2.0 mm, 3.5 mm & 5.0 mm.  Perfect for addressing fun cards!

 Roxanne will provide paper and handouts for which there will be a fee of $1.00 for non-members.
